THE SNOWSHOER

Put on your toques, mittens, and snowshoes, and uncover the winter sports practiced on the Plains of Abraham. In the company of an early 20th-century snowshoer, relive the golden age of these excursions. This is an original recreational outing that will give you chills of pleasure.

 

Accessories: traditional snowshoes, arrow sashes, lanterns (in the evening), and hot chocolate

SOLDIER OF THE MARTELLO TOWER

Learn about the life of soldiers stationed in a Martello Tower with British officers. This interactive historical animation involves you in the military life of 1812 through competitions and games.

THE BATTLES OF THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM

 

Under the command of generals Wolfe and Montcalm, revist the living conditions of soldiers at the time of the 1759 and 1760 battles, on the Plains of Abraham. Review strategies, load muskets and cannons, and treat wounded fellows fallen on the battlefield. 

 

Accessories: interactive whiteboard (IWB), cannon, muskets, surgical instruments, cartridges, artilleryman material and cannonballs

THE 20TH CENTURY WALK

WOLFE AND MONTCALM

IN CLASS

 

In the company of Generals Wolfe and Montcalm, review the major military strategies of the Siege of Quebec in the summer of 1759. Learn all the intricacies of line battle by participating in the musket loading competition. Take part in an intriguing historical quiz and witness a demonstration of period surgery.

BATTLES EXHIBITION (1759-1760)

Accompagnied by a member of the Canadian militia, learn about the history of the Siege of Québec City and of the battles of the Plains of Abraham. In an evocative, interactive setting, find out about the crimes, punishments and laws in force. Take part in an incredible immersive screening featuring original, often moving, accounts of those who lived through the battles of the Plains. Then, join in and explore military life from the magnificient collection of artefacts in the Identities exhibition.
