Inaugurated in 2008

The Louis-Hébert Orchard was inaugurated in 2008 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battlefields Park. Located to the west of the Cap Blanc Staircase, it contains 27 wild apple trees (Malus sylvestris).

Its name recalls that of the first settler of New France to make a living from his crops. Arriving in Quebec in 1617, Louis Hébert cleared and cultivated land on the heights of the city. Among other things, he planted Normandy apple trees brought from France (Malus domestica or Malus sylvestris).
